Will The Flat Belly Diet Reshape Midsections?

Will The Flat Belly Diet Reshape Midsections?

Dieting is becoming the new national pastime. Fad diets spring up all the time, like the South Beach Diet, the We Can't Believe You Were Gullible Enough to Buy This Stuff Diet, and now the Flat Belly Diet. A Northwest Passage of dieting has been sought after for years, and Flat Belly Diet is not one either. It does, though, use some solid science and common sense. You won't have to get installment loans for TV dinners, either.

Mediterranean Diet is related to the Flat Belly Diet

Because doctors are experts on the human body, to doctors you should go to consult about dieting and weight loss, and WebMD has reviewed the Flat Belly Diet. The diet claims to burn off 15 pounds in 32 days. The first four days are 1,200 to 1,400 calorie days intended to reset the system and get dieters to the mindset of healthier eating. Dieters are designed to drink 2 liters a day of Sassy Water during this phase.

Monounsaturated fats

Indeed, Cynthia Sass, who invented Sassy Water, is a co-author of the book along with Liz Vaccariello. The 1,600 calorie per day diet is glued together with a compound called Monounsaturated Fat. MUFAs, as they’re called, are known to help reduce levels of low density lipoproteins (that’s the bad cholesterol) and potentially boost High Density Lipoprotein (the good kind).

Lots of healthy goodness

The diet itself has an eating plan, a cookbook, you name it. You eat four small meals a day, all containing a MUFA in it. You keep to healthier meal choices, like more vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins. You are also encouraged to serve yourself a side of regular exercise.

The web doctors weigh in

WebMD won't be recommending it to Stockholm, though they didn't hate it. They had some reservations about the Flat Belly Diet, however they did praise some features. They point out the 15 pounds will most likely be water weight, in that a person would have to burn over 1,600 calories a day to lose the claimed 15 pounds in that time. They admonish the public to remember SED – Strength training, exercise (cardio) and a proper Diet, to sustain responsible weight loss. There is no miracle weight loss solution.
