New Once Per Year Drug for Osteoporosis

Geriatric patients who suffer from osteoporosis may now have a new drug available to them the will decrease the risk of common spine, hip, and vertebral fractures caused by osteoporosis. The drug has been in development for quite some now, and is expected to be approved by the FDA shortly. The drug is similar to the primary ingredients of Fosamax, Boniva, and Actonel. Currently, osteoporosis patients have the option of various doses, including dialy, weekly, or monthly. The new once per year dosage is welcome news to patients of this common diagnosis.
